STEPS Teacher Training Programme

The Centre for Training and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the University of Crete, as part of the “SCIENCE FOR GROWTH – EMPOWERING MINDS (STEPS)” project, offers a free online training programme designed specifically for educators at all levels.

Growth Mindset in Research and Education: From Theory to Practice

The training program “Growth Mindset in Research and Education: From Theory to Practice” aims to strengthen the link between research and educational practice and to equip researchers with the skills to transform scientific knowledge into accessible and engaging experiences, while supporting educators in creating learning environments that foster curiosity, collaboration, perseverance, and the active participation of all learners.

The training programme brings together Growth Mindset, inquiry-based learning, STEAM, and promote gender equality and inclusion with science communication, Learning Labs, and public engagement.

The teacher-focused specialisation provides practical approaches for applying the Growth Mindset in the classroom, designing engaging STEAM activities, and developing modern, learner-centred lesson plans.

The program has a total duration of 240 hours, equivalent to 9.6 ECTS credits, and is delivered remotely, with 90% asynchronous and 10% synchronous instruction.

Acknowledgement for Participating Schools

When all teachers of a school participate in the training programme, the school may receive a certificate of participation, which can be used to document the school’s professional development activities as part of its evaluation, in accordance with the applicable framework.
