Quantum science and technology has become a major pillar of modern scientific research, driven by massive investments of the public and the private sector. The field promises a new quantum era, where quantum information transmission and processing, as well as quantum sensing technologies, will bring about a profound transformation in our technological capabilities across a vast range of economic activities.
Training the new quantum-agile workforce has become an urgent priority worldwide. This week-long summer school will feature:

• Prof. Adesso (quantum information),
• Prof. Fabre (quantum optics),
• Prof. Kominis (quantum metrology & quantum biology),
• Prof. Makris (non-hermitian physics),
• Dr. Skotiniotis (quantum metrology), and
• Prof. Tsironis (nonlinear physics and machine learning).

Besides formal training on modern concepts of quantum optical states, quantum measurements, open quantum systems, quantum resource theories, quantum parameter estimation, quantum noise, and quantum ΑΙ, the school will include interactive problem solving sessions led by Dr. Gasbarri (open quantum systems & gravity), as well as mini research pro­jects by the participants. Finally, the school will provide ample time for social interactions between lecturers and participants.

Senior undergraduate and graduate students (Masters, PhD) are welcome to apply.

Το 6ο Θερινό Σχολείο με θέμα Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά & Εφαρμογές Επαυξημένης Πραγματικότητας στην
Εκπαίδευση θα
διεξαχθεί 15-21 Ιουλίου 2022 στον Άγιο Νικόλαο.

Σκοπός του 6ου Θερινού Σχολείου είναι η παιδαγωγική αξιοποίηση των νέων τεχνολογιών:

ως μέσο δημιουργίας ψηφιακού παιγνιδιού επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας,

με τη χρήση κινητού τηλεφλωνου,

για την ανάδειξη της πολιτισμικής μας κληρονομιάς.

Responsibility School), σε συνεργασία

Το Τμήμα Φυσικής του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης, σε συνεργασία με το Ινστιτούτο Αστροφυσικής του ΙΤΕ, μετά
από μία
διακοπή δύο ετών λόγω της πανδημίας, οργανώνουν για δεύτερη φορά ένα θερινό σχολείο σε θέματα
Αστροστατιστικής από τις 11 έως τις 15 Ιουλίου 2022. Το σχολείο συντονίζουν παλαιοί φοιτητές και
μεταδιδάκτορες του Τμήματος Φυσικής.

The 2nd Cretan Summer School of Respiratory Department SHARE; from bench to bedside is targeting to teach
medical
doctors and researchers the latest advancements of Respiratory diseases covering theory, multidisciplinary
discussions between clinicians- respiratory and primary care physicians, rheumatologists and expert

Since 2006 the Department of Economics of the University of Crete is successfully running its Advanced Summer
School in Economics and Econometrics – ASSEE. From 2015 and on the summer course is co-organized with the
Department of Agricultural Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

ASSEE is one of the few summer courses in the world combining high quality morning lectures with extensive
computer practicals in the afternoon. World leading scholars teach every year a different topic in economics
and/or econometrics. The target audience includes PhD students in early or later stages in their studies,
early career researchers and academics, as well as practitioners from both the public and private sectors.

The topic of the 16th Advanced Summer School in Economics and Econometrics is “Bayesian Networks in Policy
and Society” and its objective is to introduce attendees to recent developments of Bayesian Networks using
the statistical language R. The instructor is Dr. Marco Scutari, Senior Researcher in Bayesian Networks and
Graphical Models, Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi sull’Intelligenza Artificiale (IDSIA), Polo Universitario
Lugano, Switzerland.
