International studies in the University of Crete are also growing significantly, with eighteen (18) exclusively English-taught graduate programs welcoming both international and Greek students, as well as collaborations with institutions and organizations through joint, interdepartmental, inter-institutional, and international graduate programs that lead to joint or double degrees.

At the research level, all Departments of the University of Crete offer high-quality doctoral studies with a modern academic orientation and strong research support. Opportunities for co-supervision of doctoral dissertations in collaboration with distinguished universities abroad further enhance the international experience and networking of doctoral candidates. Within this environment of excellence, the University prepares the next generation of scientists, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and research tools necessary for successful careers in research, innovation, and the modern labor market.

It is also worth noting that the University was a pioneer in Greece in adopting the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and has held the “Human Resources Excellence in Research (HRS4R)” award since 2012, confirming the quality of its research environment, while offering its students unique opportunities for international academic experience and welcoming a large number of international students.

This office coordinates all activities that promote employment and career opportunities, offering guidance and support from the beginning of studies through to post-graduation. Services include individual and group career counseling, professional advice, networking events with companies or graduate program selection, and targeted job-search seminars. In addition, the Career and Liaison Office leverages the experiences of the University’s alumni, many of whom are now highly successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, distinguished academics, and researchers, through collaboration with the Alumni Association.
