The 3rd Computational Chemistry Crete Summer School Successfully Concludes at the University of Crete

The 3rd Computational Chemistry Crete Summer School was successfully held at the University of Crete, bringing together talented students and early-career researchers for an intensive week of learning and collaboration.

Organized by the Materials Modeling and Design Group (MMDG) of the Department of Chemistry, University of Crete, the summer school took place from July 6–10, 2026, at the Department of Chemistry in Heraklion.

For the third consecutive year, the program attracted outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, as well as early-career researchers from a variety of scientific disciplines, further establishing itself as a leading educational initiative at the intersection of Computational Chemistry, Materials Science, and Artificial Intelligence. The program aimed to familiarize participants with state-of-the-art computational methods while equipping them with the practical skills that have become essential tools for modern research and innovation.

Designed primarily for senior undergraduate and early graduate students, the summer school provided participants with a strong foundation in both theory and practice. Through hands-on training, they gained experience in programming, computational simulations, and advanced materials modeling techniques. Participants also explored how computational approaches are accelerating scientific discovery and driving the development of next-generation technologies.
