On Friday July 9, the Rector of the UoC Professor George M. Kontakis and
the Rector of the University of Guadalajara, Dr Aristarco Regalado Pinedo,
signed an MoU between the two Higher Education Institutions.

The official ceremony was also attended by Vice Rector of Academic
Affairs, Lifelong Learning, International Affairs & Outlook, Professor George
Kosioris and the Dean of the School of Sciences & Engineering, Professor
Emmanuel Stratakis. The University of Guadalajara was represented by its Rector,
Dr Aristarco Regalado Pinedo, Dr Isis Anlluly Tonantzin Pegueros Lepe and by Dr
Paraskevi Kouvatsou.

The Agreement will foster various actions towards the Internationalization
of the UoC, as declared by the UoC Rector Professor George M. Kontakis.

Specifically, the organization of a symposium focusing on social
sciences and humanities has been scheduled towards the end of 2021. Emphasis
will be given to presentations made by students from the two Universities on issues
like social cohesion, immigration, gender equality, cultural inheritance etc.,
challenging for both Greece and Mexico.
