A delegation of 24 Chinese universities visited Greece on Monday 18th of September 2023 to discuss potential collaborations with Greek universities. The event was held at the conference center of the University of Western Attica and it was a significant step in the effort initiated by the Greek Ministry of Education, in collaboration with China’s national educational internationalization body and its Greek counterpart, Study in Greece.

 The visit of the Chinese universities to Greece is a major step forward in the effort to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education. The visit is expected to lead to new opportunities for student exchanges, research partnerships, and joint degree programs.

 The Greek delegation included representatives from the University of Crete.

 The University of Crete’s Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs, Lifelong Learning, International Relations & Outlook Prof. Georgios Kossioris, highlighted the university’s significant efforts in internationalization and its keen interest in strengthening ties with China.

 Prof. G.Kosioris also emphasized the university’s commitment to global academic partnerships, presenting the various initiatives of the University of Crete, including its English-language programs. He emphasized the university’s dedication to fostering international collaborations and providing a global educational experience for its students.

  The event promises to pave the way for future collaborations, including student exchanges, joint research, and shared degree programs, further enhancing the bond between Greek and Chinese academic communities.
