The Department of Computer Science (CSD) of the University of Crete continues to gain international recognition through the achievements of its members. Two PhD students of the Department, Nikos Myrtakis and Manos Papadogiannakis, have received significant distinctions as Outstanding Reviewers at world-renowned computer science conferences:

• Nikos Myrtakis — ACM SIGKDD 2025 Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, the premier international conference in the field of knowledge discovery and data analysis.
• Manos Papadogiannakis — The Web Conference 2024, one of the most important international conferences on the World Wide Web and its technologies.

These distinctions reflect not only the excellence and high caliber of our students, but also the Department’s ongoing commitment to active participation in the global research community—affirming its role as one of the most dynamic academic and research centers in Greece and beyond.
