On December 13, 2025, the Hellenic University Hack competition took place, with the participation of 103 teams from 14 Greek universities. The University of Crete achieved an outstanding distinction, securing two podium positions—second and third place—through the teams TravellersUOC and 0xdeada1u5, respectively.

This exceptional performance attests to the high quality of education provided by the University of Crete in the fields of technology and innovation. The Department of Computer Science of the University of Crete extends its warm congratulations to the students Giorgos Goupas, Theologos Kokkinelis, Nikos Boumakis, Ioannis Peggioudis, Pantelis Tsagkarakis, Alexandros Fourtounis, as well as to alumnus Giorgos Xiroudakis, for their remarkable achievement.

The teams’ participation and preparation were carried out as part of their academic activities, under the supervision of Professor Evangelos Markatos.

This success highlights the students’ ability to innovate and excel in demanding competitions, while also underscoring the importance of excellence at the University of Crete—an institution that prepares its students to assume leading roles in the fields of technology and science.
