On Monday, September 15, 2025, the University of Crete hosted a high-level delegation from Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU), China.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. M. Vamvakaki, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lifelong Learning, and Research Policy, Assoc. Prof. D. Papazoglou, Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Gr. Emvalomatis, Vice-Chair of the Department of Economics.

Discussions focused on the achievements, priorities, and research activities of the University of Crete, with particular emphasis on the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Department of Economics. The BTBU representatives, in turn, presented their undergraduate and graduate programs in related fields.

Special reference was made to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2019. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to renewing and expanding this agreement. Representatives from the UoC Directorate of International and Public Relations also participated, contributing to the planning of future mobility initiatives.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and to explore new opportunities for researcher exchanges and broader academic collaboration.
