The Municipality of Heraklion and the UoC Department of International and Public Relations invite the Erasmus and International students of the University of Crete to a “Heritage Marathon” on Saturday October 19 at 11.00, organized in the frame of Erasmus Days 2024.

We will walk on the Venetian Walls of the city, one of the greatest fortification works in the Mediterranean, with a long and turbulent history. Now a recreational area for locals and visitors, these walls once withstood the second-longest siege in history for 21 years! 

Together with a tour guide, we will learn about secret arcades, incredible battles, and other stories hidden in this magnificent monument of Heraklion.
