The University of Crete launched the Teachers’ Academy for Artificial Intelligence Literacy on January 1, 2026, a three-year European program aimed at training 2,500 teachers from seven European countries. The program was funded by ERASMUS+ EDU 2025 and coordinated by the Talos-AI4SSH Lab, under the scientific leadership of Professor Eleni Katsarou.
The Academy’s goal was to empower educators with the knowledge and skills needed to pedagogically integrate Artificial Intelligence into the classroom, focusing on both its technical aspects and its ethical, social, and humanistic dimensions. The program included the development of educational materials and professional training delivered in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online activities.
