Representatives from fifteen (15) leading U.S
Universities visited the University of Crete on 9 and 10 November 2022, for the
“International Academic Partnership Program”,
an initiative of the Ministry of Education developed through the “Institute of International
Education” (www.iie.org).
Professors and executives from the Johns Hopkins University, Joliet Junior
College, Lehigh University, Rutgers University, Stockton University, Tufts
University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Cincinnati,
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of South Alabama, Ohio
Northern University, University of Southern California – Viterbi School of
Engineering, Wayne State University, Yale University together with the
Co-President of “Institute of International Education” Ms.Sarah A. Ilchman have participated in the delegation groups. On
Wednesday, 9 November 2022, the American representatives visited Gallus Campus
in Rethymno and the University Library, while the next day, the delegation
group met in Heraklion with the Academic Authorities and Faculty to discuss
future partnership.
There was mutual interest in joint educational
activities and research collaboration, such as joint Masters, Summer Schools, exchange of
postgraduate students, PhD candidates and faculty members.
