The Cultural Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Greece, Ms. Shanna Surendra, visited the University of Crete on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Voutes Campus in Heraklion.

Ms. Shanna Surendra was welcomed by the Rector of the University, Professor Georgios M. Kontakis, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lifelong Learning, International Relations, and Outreach, Professor Georgios Kossioris, the Professor of the Medical School and Coordinator of the International English-Language Undergraduate Program of the Medical School, Dr. Christos Tsatsanis, as well as members of the Directorate of International and Public Relations, the Welcome Office, and the Department of Public Relations.

During the meeting, discussions revolved around topics related to the University of Crete’s internationalization efforts and its bilateral relationships with educational and research institutions in the United States. Additionally, practical considerations were explored regarding how the U.S. Embassy could support the strategic internationalization goals of the University of Crete.
