The Department of Philology of the University of Crete is organizing the Poetry Festival: New Voices for emerging poets, under the auspices of the Municipality of Rethymno.
Students are invited to participate in poetry workshops and to share their poems with the wider public.
Student participants:
On May 15, poetry workshops will take place at the Rethymno University Campus, followed by poetry readings in the Atrium of the Department of Philology.
On June 5, poetry workshops and readings will be held at the Xenia cultural venue in the city.
Adults:
On June 6, poetry workshops will take place at Xenia and in the Municipal Garden. The program will continue with an Open Mic event in the afternoon at the Loggia, followed by a Night of Poetry at the Fortezza.
The aim of the Festival is to offer space and community to individuals who are still exploring their poetic voice. If you have not yet published a poetry collection, or have published only one, we invite you to share your poetic work with us through an initiative that promotes the values of polyphony, experimentation, sharing, and inclusion.
To participate, please submit your poems by April 30.
