On Monday, May 20, 2024, the University of Crete in Heraklion welcomed a delegation from Ningbo, China, accompanied by representatives of the Municipality of Heraklion, with the aim of strengthening the relations between the city of Ningbo and the University of Crete.

During the meeting, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lifelong Learning, International Relations and Outreach, Professor Georgios Kosiouris, presented the University of Crete and referred to the institution’s collaborations with China.

Similarly, Ms. Xu Yanan, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal People’s Congress and head of the delegation, expressed her satisfaction with the warm reception and hospitality from the University of Crete and emphasized that “today’s visit lays the foundation for cooperation and friendship between the city of Ningbo and the University of Crete, which will lead us to the next steps.”

An open discussion and exchange of views followed, aiming at cooperation between the University of Crete and Ningbo University, particularly for the promotion of relations between the two institutions, exchanges of researchers, doctoral candidates, and students, as well as the creation of summer schools.
