On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the University of Crete welcomed a delegation from Jiangsu Second Normal University (JSSNU), China. The delegation included the Rector and the Deans of the Faculties of Humanities and Natural Sciences.

The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration between the two universities. Discussions focused on student and staff exchanges, joint summer and winter schools, shared postgraduate programs, and research partnerships.

Vice Rector for Development, International Relations, and Outreach, Professor E. Tamiolaki, welcomed the guests and emphasized the University of Crete’s strong commitment to international cooperation.

The meeting was highly productive, generating several promising ideas for future collaboration. Both sides agreed to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to outline the framework for joint activities.

During their visit, the delegation toured the University Library in Heraklion and visited the facilities of the Schools of Science and Medicine.

The University of Crete looks forward to building a strong partnership with JSSNU and fostering academic ties between Greece and China.
