Professor Elena Drakonaki has assumed the Presidency of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR), one of the world’s leading scientific societies dedicated to musculoskeletal imaging.

With more than 3,000 members worldwide, the ESSR has achieved remarkable progress in recent years through the dedication, vision, and collective efforts of its past presidents, officers, and members.

As President of the Society, Professor Drakonaki will work closely with the ESSR community to further strengthen the Society, support its members, advance scientific excellence and education in musculoskeletal radiology, and ultimately contribute to improving patient care.

This prestigious appointment reflects Professor Drakonaki’s internationally recognized scientific expertise and leadership and represents an important distinction for the University of Crete.
