School of Philosophy

Rethymno

The Philosophy School was founded in 1976 and is the oldest of the Schools of the University of Crete in Rethymnon with the Departments Philology, History and Archaeology and Philosophy.

The School of Educational Sciences was founded in 1995 by Presidential Decree 2/1995 (Government Gazette 1/10.1.1995, vol. A'). It was joined by Department of Primary Education and the Department of Preschool Education.

The Faculty of Positive and Technological Sciences of the University of Crete was founded in 1976 and has the Departments Mathematics & Applied Mathematics , Physics, Biology , Chemistry, Computer Science and Materials Science and Engineering.

The School of Medicine of the University of Crete was founded with PD 653/76 initially as a six-year School of Medicine and has the programs Medicine and International Program in Medicine.
