Winter School: Child and Sport Safety – Basic Cardiac and General Health Evaluation

The School of Medicine, University of Crete, is pleased to announce the Winter School 2025 on “Child and Sport Safety – Basic Cardiac and General Health Evaluation.” The course will be conducted in Greek through a blended learning format and will take place on November 15 and November 21–23, 2025.

This specialized educational program is designed to introduce the principles of pre-participation health screening in children, with particular emphasis on cardiac safety in sports. The first session will be held in person at the School of Medicine and will include interactive lectures on the general health assessment of children in the context of pre-participation screening. The second part of the program will be delivered through live e-learning sessions. These will cover the fundamentals of pediatric cardiac evaluation, including cardiac auscultation, pediatric ECG interpretation, and case-based interactive learning.

The Winter School is open to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, nursing students, students of Sports Science, as well as practicing physicians. It is organized under the auspices of the School of Medicine, University of Crete.

Successful participants will receive 2 ECTS credits and will also be awarded a Certificate of Acquired Clinical Skills.
