30th International Conference on Macroeconomic Analysis and International Finance

The Department of Economics of the University of Crete (UoC) is organizing the 30th International Conference on Macroeconomic Analysis and International Finance (ICMAIF) in May 27–30, 2026, at the Gallos University Campus in Rethymno.

Celebrating three decades of continuous international presence, ICMAIF has established itself as a major global forum for cutting-edge research and dialogue in economics, macroeconomic policy, and international finance.

This year’s keynote speakers include internationally renowned economists and policy advisors from the United States: Steven J. Davis (Hoover Institution at Stanford University), Stavros Panageas (UCLA), Mark Spiegel (Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco), Timothy Taylor (Journal of Economic Perspectives).

The conference will welcome 207 professors, researchers, and representatives of international economic institutions from universities and organizations across Europe, the United States, and beyond. The program features 200 research presentations covering a broad range of critical global issues, including macroeconomic theory and policy, European Union macroeconomics, developing economies, financial and currency crises, monetary policy, economic growth, inflation, labor markets, business cycles, and international finance.

The conference brings the University of Crete and Greece to the forefront of international economic thought, connecting leading academics, policymakers, researchers, and financial experts from around the world.

The conference is supported by the Bank of Greece, Eurobank, and The Cretan Rhizotomists Group.
