The University of Crete is pleased to announce the participation of two of its graduate students—Elisavet Kapetanou (Biomedical Engineering) and Dimitra Tsantiraki (Political Science)—in the prestigious EIB Summer School 2025. Selected from a competitive pool of 80 students across Europe, Elisavet and Dimitra attended the program organized by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Luxembourg.
The summer school offered an in-depth exploration of the EIB’s role in shaping Europe’s future through financing, sustainability, and innovation. Through interactive lectures, workshops, and case studies, participants engaged directly with Bank experts and delved into key topics such as the energy transition, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
Elisavet Kapetanou took part in the “Governance and Policy” module and was selected as a speaker in the “Youth Talk Session on Innovation” panel. DimitraTsantiraki participated in the “Development & Social Growth” module, where she contributed to a simulated evaluation of an investment project. Both students emphasized the value of connecting academic knowledge with institutional practice.
Their achievement highlights the academic excellence of University of Crete students and the institution’s commitment to fostering international learning opportunities.
