The Secret History: Women in Ancient and Modern Thought

The Gender Equality Committee of the University of Crete and the Laboratory for Philosophical Research and Translation (University of Crete Reasearch Center – UCRC) of the Department of Philosophy invite you to two lectures on the overlooked contribution of women to the historiography of philosophy.

The event will take place on Tuesday, April 21, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 9 of the School of Philosophy at the Gallos University Campus.

Speakers:

Gary Ostertag: “Reclaiming the Narrative: O’Neill on Feminist Historiography”

Emily Hulme: “Men’s Virtues, Women’s Virtues?: Women in Greek Philosophy”

The discussion will be moderated by Chloe Balla, Professor in the UoC Department of Philosophy.
