The Department of Philosophy at the University of Crete invites you to the 2nd CINEphil_101 International Philosophy Film Festival, which will take place at the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion Crete (CCCC) from 3 to 10 May, 2026.

The aim of CINEphil_101 is to promote the creative dialogue between contemporary cinema and philosophy, and to foster a space for the exchange of ideas within and beyond the academic community.

The Festival program includes an international feature-length film competition, thematic screenings, student films, discussions with philosophers and filmmakers, as well as educational activities focused on gender equality and human rights. All festival screenings have English and Greek subtitles, apart from the student film section, Saturday 9 May, 17:00-19:00, and the morning educational programs, which are addressed to schools.

The CINEphil_101 International Philosophy Film Festival is organized by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Crete and the cultural organization HE.art (Heraklion Art), in collaboration with the Region of Crete and the Municipality of Heraklion, in co-production with the Heraklion Cultural and Conference Center, in partnership with the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center, and with the support of the Panagiotis and Efi Micheli Foundation.
